Urban Industrial Steampunk Coat Hook Vintage 1961 Fire Extinguisher, Winch Hooks
The inspiration and centrepiece for this Coat rack was a 1961 Pyrene fire extinguisher. It had a fantastic patina and we knew it would work well to contrast with the copper. We also had a 1950's brass pressure gauge that came out of the Leyland and Birmingham rubber factories boiler room. We acquired it when the auctioned off all of the fittings a few years back.
There is some wear to the face but its to be expected it is close to 70 years old. We finished the piece with four 1.5 ton industrial winch hooks. These were used when we got them so they have some marks on them which further add's to the industrial look.
The remainder of the coat rack was made from premium grade pure 22mm copper tube and fittings. These are all soldered unlike some cheaper alternatives on the market that are just made from 15mm copper and glued together. All of our coat hooks can be used in many places around the home.
They are great in a hall, or on the back of a bedroom door. They also look great in a garage or mancave. Bear in mind all industrial products will have minor marks etc. Also there will be solder residue on the fittings. This is part of the manufacturing process and just add's to the authentic look of the product.Be advised that no matter how strong the lacquer is there will always be some scratching to the rail that the hooks are attached to. In time these will just fade and form new patination.
This is a good strong coat hook with three mounting points. Its been made to last.
